His colleagues present this token of their esteem and of their gratitude for Brian G. Weinshenker, with a big thank you, for being a mentor of mentors in neurology; for being a constant humble servant of patients and their needs; for being an endless source of intelligence, knowledge and wisdom in multiple sclerosis and related disorders for all; for his endless innovative contribution to all his colleagues’ careers; for keeping the words of me, my, mine and I out of conversations despite being an irreplaceable international legend in his area; for teaching us to remain humble; for also teaching us all to work constantly to attain the perfection of art and science of medicine, most importantly teaching us never to give up our ideals and ideas to defend them for our patients’ sake against all pressures, and for his steadfast loyalty to that living body of high principles that were initiated by the Founders, William James Mayo, M.D., and Charles Horace Mayo, M.D., and that now clearly are recognized as the ideals of Mayo Clinic.
