Her colleagues present this token of their esteem and of their gratitude for her distinguished career as a medical editor; her expressions of gratitude to and support of her colleagues; her high professional and personal standards; her enthusiastic acceptance of high workloads and the diligence with which she managed them; her commitment to education and lifelong learning; her enthusiasm for teaching the conventions of medical publishing; her contributions to the American Medical Writers Association, the Board of Editors in the Life Sciences, and the Council of Science Editors; her sunny disposition and cheerful greetings to her colleagues; her dedication to her friends and family; her ability to listen compassionately and to offer kind support and tactful advice; her enthusiasm for outdoor adventures in all seasons; her generosity in sharing home-baked goods; her love of plants and animals, especially her cats; her enjoyment of travel and her many trips to northern Minnesota; and for her steadfast loyalty to that living body of high principles that were initiated by the Founders, William James Mayo, M.D., and Charles Horace Mayo, M.D., and that now clearly are recognized as the ideals of Mayo Clinic.
