Her colleagues present this token of their esteem and of their gratitude for the steady demeanor, sharp mind and compassion she possesses; for her determination in advancing Mayo Clinic’s role as a leader in the diagnostic industry to propel medicine forward and improve patient care worldwide; for her foresight and leadership in launching Mayo Validation Support Services, Business Development, and the Advanced Diagnostics Laboratory; for her initiative and innovation in modernizing and expanding education, marketing, and communications capabilities within Mayo Clinic Laboratories; for her guidance, insights, and strategic planning that created a world-class specialty diagnostics sales and marketing organization, solidified numerous strategic industry partnerships, and protected Mayo Clinic’s interests in industry agreements; for her unwavering determination that led to a landmark win at the U.S. Supreme Court, which redefined patent law for the laboratory industry; for her kindness, grace, and steady counsel for her employees and colleagues; for her presence as a role model and mentor for other female leaders throughout Mayo Clinic; for her dedication to her community as an active citizen and a coach for youth sports, inspiring health and wellness; for her enduring love for her family; and for her steadfast loyalty to that living body of high principles that were initiated by the Founders, William James Mayo, M.D., and Charles Horace Mayo, M.D., and that now clearly are recognized as the ideals of Mayo Clinic.
