His colleagues present this token of their esteem and of their gratitude for his many contributions to the Division of Community Oncology; for his many years spent growing the oncology research portfolio in addition to his practice; for his wise counsel in the clinic workroom, during tumor board and on hospital consult service; for his humanity, understanding, his deep faith and resilience in face of personal and professional tragedy; for grace under pressure; for sharing his encyclopedic knowledge and deep clinical experience; for his kindness and respect to staff and patients alike; for his compassionate and comforting care; for his willingness to work in the extra patient, cover the extra clinic; for his love and devotion to his family including his mother, wife and children; for his devotion to interfaith efforts in the community; for his charity in Pakistan and Minnesota; for his loyal friendship and his understated sense of humor; for his honesty, integrity, affability, sharp intellect, his clinical acumen and his research expertise; for his consistent values centered on family and patients; and for this steadfast loyalty to that living body of high principles that were initiated by the Founders, William James Mayo, M.D., and Charles Horace Mayo, M.D., and that now clearly are recognized as the ideals of Mayo Clinic.
