Her colleagues present this token of their esteem and of their gratitude for her compassionate, holistic patient care that was recognized by the prestigious Karis Award; for her exemplary teaching of medical students, residents, and nurse practitioners for which she received the 2019 Educator of the Year Award; for her strong advocacy for our nurse practitioners and physician assistants as the inaugural APP physician liaison for the Department; for her community oriented research into pediatric overweight and obesity in partnership with the Endocrine Research Unit, GCRC, and the Obesity Treatment Research Program; for her patient leadership of both Patient Care Connection and the Primary Care Nursing Protocol Review Group; for her diligent authorship of Check Symptoms, a Patient Self Triage Algorithm on the Mayo Patient Portal; for her love of family, colleagues, gardening, knitting, and travel; and for her steadfast loyalty to that living body of high principles that were initiated by the Founders, William James Mayo, M.D., and Charles Horace Mayo, M.D., and that now clearly are recognized as the ideals of Mayo Clinic.
